On the lock screen, press and hold the Shift key—don’t release it. While holding it, click the Power button and choose Restart.

Instead of a normal restart, the Windows Recovery Environment will open.

After that:

Go to Troubleshoot

Then Advanced Options

Click on Command Prompt

Now type the following commands:

C: → Press Enter (to select the drive)

cd windows/system32 → Press Enter (to go to the correct folder)

ren utilman.exe utilman1.exe → Press Enter (to back up the original file)

ren cmd.exe utilman.exe → Press Enter

exit → Press Enter

Now click on Continue. Your PC will restart and return to the lock screen.

At the bottom, click on the Accessibility option. This will open the Command Prompt (CMD).

Now type: control userpasswords2 → Press Enter

A new window will open. Here:

Click on Reset Password

Set your new password

Click OK

Now you can log in using your new password.
